I walk a lot on sidewalks. I am so glad I found these. 6 stars! I was startled when I first tried on these sandals. They fit like a glove (I used a shoehorn) and when I tested walking on carpet, I seemed to be rolling, awkward. However, I tested longer, walked on nearby astroturf, decided to keep the shoes. On the street, they manage my gait so that it is more even, the bottoms of my feet are not chafed or hot, not one sore from rubbing, not one first-use blister, knees feel good, back feels good. The only negative is they are heavy, which is a plus from an exercise perspective, and perhaps would make me tire sooner on a long hike. They are still a bit awkward on carpet. I've going to buy another pair by this manufacturer, a tie shoe.
